The devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam and the looming question of what happens when nuclear-armed nations clash.
On April 22, 2025, something very sad happened in Pahalgam, a peaceful and beautiful place in Jammu and Kashmir. A group of terrorists attacked innocent tourists. These cruel people killed 26 people and hurt many others. Some of the victims were children, women, and old people. The whole country was shocked. Everyone felt heartbroken and angry.
When something like this happens, people feel like fighting back. Many people in India started saying that we should attack Pakistan. They believed the terrorists came from there.
But making decisions in anger can be dangerous. We should not do anything without thinking. We must act wisely and carefully.
1. Pakistan Said “We Did Not Do It”
Right after the attack, leaders of Pakistan said they were not involved. They said they were sorry for what happened. Pakistan’s President wrote:
“I strongly condemn this terrible attack in Pahalgam. We stand against terrorism. My heart goes out to the families of those who lost their loved ones.”
When someone says they are not guilty and also shows sadness for the victims, it is important to find out the truth before doing anything harsh.
2. War Costs a Lot of Money
War is very expensive. If India and Pakistan start fighting, a lot of bad things can happen:
- Shops and businesses will close
- People will lose jobs
- Prices of food, fuel, and daily items will rise
- Transport like buses and trains may stop
- Farmers will not be able to sell their crops
War will make life very hard for normal people who had nothing to do with the terrorists. It will destroy jobs, homes, and dreams. The poor and middle class will suffer the most.
All this will make normal people suffer. They did nothing wrong but will still face the pain.
3. War Hurts Many Innocent People
In war, bullets and bombs do not just hit soldiers. Many innocent people also get hurt. Houses are destroyed. Schools and hospitals are damaged. Families are broken.
Children lose their parents. Parents lose their children. People live in fear. Everything becomes dark and sad.
Imagine if your school got damaged. You would miss your classes and feel scared. War brings fear and sadness to everyone, not just the army.
4. Think of a Family Example
Imagine two big families living next to each other. One boy from one family does something very wrong. He breaks a window or hurts someone. Should the other family go and attack everyone in that boy’s house, including his grandparents, sisters, and parents?
That would not be fair. Only the boy who did wrong should be punished.
India and Pakistan are like two parts of one big old family. Just because some terrorists came from Pakistan does not mean all Pakistani people are bad. Most of them are innocent and also want peace.
5. Powerful Weapons Can Be Very Dangerous
India and Pakistan both have powerful weapons that can destroy big cities. These weapons are very dangerous. If one small mistake is made, millions of people can die.
Schools, hospitals, temples, mosques, homes, and roads can all be turned to dust. The sky can become dark with smoke. Children will not be able to play or study. People will run in fear.
Is this what we want for our people? No. This is not the right path. These weapons should never be used unless it is absolutely needed.
6. Other Ways to Get Justice
We do not need to go to war to punish the terrorists. India can use smart steps. Here are some examples:
- We can collect proof and show it to the United Nations
- We can ask other countries to help us catch the terrorists
- We can stop trade or deals with those who support terrorism
- We can use technology to block money going to terror groups
- We can talk to other strong countries and take action together
These ways are smart and do not hurt innocent people. They help find the real ones who are guilty.
7. Learn From Past Wars
India and Pakistan have fought wars in 1965, 1971, and 1999. In those wars, many people died. Many families were destroyed.
But even after all that pain, the problems were still there. War did not fix anything.
In 2003, both countries agreed to stop fighting at the border. After that, life became a little better. People could sleep without fear. This shows that peace and talking help more than fighting.
8. Being Calm Is a Sign of Strength
Some people think peace is a sign of weakness. But the truth is the opposite. Staying calm in a tough situation is real strength.
Anyone can get angry and fight. But only the brave and wise stay calm and take the right steps.
India is a strong country. We are known for our smart minds, science, and kindness. Our soldiers are brave, but our leaders and people are also wise.
Let us show the world that India is smart, peaceful, and strong.
9. Poor People in Pakistan Will Also Suffer
Pakistan is already going through a hard time. People there are facing high prices, no jobs, and power cuts. Many of them are poor and suffering.
If India attacks Pakistan, those poor people will suffer even more. They did not support the terrorists. They just want to live their lives peacefully.
Hurting them will not help us. It will only create more hate and more pain. We should never harm the innocent.
10. Let India Be an Example for the World
India has always stood for peace and non-violence. Leaders like Mahatma Gandhi taught us to use love and truth, not hate and war.
Now is the time to show that we still follow that path. Even after the terrible terror attack in Pahalgam, we can choose peace, smart steps, and truth.
We can show the world that we do not get scared or angry like terrorists. We stay calm, act wisely, and still get justice.
Final Words
The Pahalgam attack was very painful. Innocent people were killed by cruel terrorists. They must be punished.
But war is not the answer. War will hurt more people, waste money, and destroy lives. It will not bring peace. It will only bring more tears.
Let us find the real terrorists and punish them in smart ways. Let us protect our people with wisdom. Let us act like the strong and peaceful country that India is.
Justice is important, but peace is powerful. Let us choose the path that brings peace, safety, and hope.
